It usually begins with a call, text or email (sometimes an approach at a party or dinner). I receive a request to explain Purely Personal services. Often I hear comments such as, “My closet is full but I have nothing to wear.” Or, “I’m going to an event and I have no idea what to wear. I heard you could help.”
And so begins a conversation. The woman is often shy or embarrassed about her wardrobe or explaining her needs. After all, she thinks, shouldn’t I be able to dress myself after the age of ten? Well, very few of us were given a tutorial on how to put together a wardrobe, much less how to use clothing as an asset in our life. That is the goal and purpose of Purely Personal — to give women the skills to create a wardrobe that meets evolving circumstances and expresses a personal style. Starting can feel intimidating but the process is actually fun and liberating. So here is how it works — a peek behind the closet doors!
It begins with a simple conversation to get to know one another. Later, I like to visit in the home for a 30-60 minute complimentary evaluation of the scope of the project and clarify personal goals and needs. It may be as simple as a wardrobe edit and analysis or require a more comprehensive package. Purely Personal offers an a la carte menu as well as packages which can be customized to meet individual needs.
The wardrobe edit is really the fundamental key.
Everyone can benefit from a professional perspective to eliminate the old, damaged or ill-fitting garments — even if they have never been worn! The process is fun — with trips down memory lane (often augmented with a glass of wine), enlightening and liberating. The edit also automatically helps to organize the closet.
Purely Personal provides shopping services and I collect unique and special items from frequent world travels to elevate a wardrobe when and where appropriate.
